Falmouth Bay SUP Tour: This is Gylly Adventures’ most popular SUP tour and it easy to see why. You will explore caves, gullies and stacks, investigate mysterious shipwrecks. Gylly is a ‘Blue Flag’ beach and the perfect venue to learn the basic paddle boarding strokes and gain confidence before setting off. Wildlife encounters are common with jumping fish, friendly seals and soaring sea birds. With such blue water it can be hard to believe you are in the UK. (Please note this tour starts and finishes on Gylly Beach)

Falmouth Harbour SUP Tour: Falmouth’s greatest asset is its deep and sheltered harbour. Mariners throughout the centuries have long regarded Falmouth as the “First and Last Port” for ships crossing the Atlantic seeking shelter. The harbour’s significant history and stunning views make it a fascinating place to go Paddle boarding. It is protected from prevailing SW winds, which means the water is smooth when the surrounding coast is choppy.

Starting from the Greenbank Hotel Pontoon, you will visit the picturesque village of Flushing, the old Falmouth Harbour and the Maritime Museum. You will have the opportunity to paddle alongside huge boats that give you a totally new perspective of scale.  The wildlife is wonderful too, with seals and sea birds a common sight.

Booking onto this trip will give you a 10% discount card for the Greenbank Hotel Restaurant if you fancy some food afterwards.

River Helford Tour: The best way to explore The Helford River is on the water.  A paddle board is the perfect craft to enjoy the serene, un-spoilt estuary that stretches from Falmouth Bay up to the old port of Gweek. Starting from The National Trust village of Durgen, you will visit Polwigwidden Cove, Helford Passage and if the tide is right, the famous Frenchman’s Creek.

The River Helford is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Ancient oak woodlands line its banks and Kingfishers perch on the overhanging branches. Dolphins, seals and oysters can be seen too if you have a keen eye. The Helford River is one of the most sheltered stretches of water anywhere in Cornwall and this makes it a magical venue for paddle boarding.

Gylly Adventures have collaborated with Yoga with Lauren, a highly experienced yoga instructor and paddle board enthusiast. Lauren is a Vinyasa Yoga teacher, offering dynamic flow classes with a blissful restorative element.

Our SUP yoga is aimed at all levels and Lauren will always offer alternative poses suitable for your level of experience. We run a Friday 7 pm Sunset class. Classes start in the first week of May, running until the last week of September. Each class is 1 hour.

It is helpful to have had some paddle board experience before coming to a class. We recommend that you have taken a beginner SUP lesson first. However, this is not a mandatory requirement. Before the Friday Sunset class we will run a 1.5 hour beginner SUP lesson starting @ 5.30pm, finishing  just before the yoga class.

Towel
Flip flops to leave on the fore shore. (It is a rocky entrance to the water so foot wear to protect your feet is useful)

Spare set of clothes
Money for food and drink in the Working Boat afterwards. (Yoga class participants get a 10% discount card for food and drink after the session)

Do I need a wetsuit? Our  aim is not to get you wet! However, there is a risk of falling in during the more difficult poses.  If you don’t want to risk it and you would like a wetsuit, you can hire one for an additional £5pp.

What if the weather is bad? SUP yoga embraces the elements so the class won’t be cancelled for a little rain on the forecast. The Wind however is more challenging.
