Archery: Test your aim against your friends, family or work colleagues. Archery is a fun friendly activity that everyone can enjoy. Our woodland archery range is a great place to practice your Robin Hood  skills.
Axe Thowing: Have you ever wanted to feel like a warrior? Axe throwing is an opportunity to release your inner savage. This primal activity will have you slinging axes like lumberjack.

Session details: Our instructors will kick off your 2hr session with a safety briefing including throwing or archery techniques that you’ll need to get on target. Once you’ve have found your aim we will stage a number of fun tournaments to crown the weapons in the woods champion.

Skills such as shelter building, fire lighting, knife work and natural navigation have long since been forgotten by most in the modern world. Gylly Adventures Woodland Bush Craft is a fun and interactive way to learn the practical skills you might need the next time your mobile phone runs out of power. There is no military style survival with us; our bush craft is a social and enjoyable activity, suitable for all.
We run half day (2.5hrs) and full day (5hrs) bush craft sessions, plus the option to stay out overnight. We cater each session to the group. Your full or half day may include activities such as: Safe knife and saw technique, basic wood carving for feathersticks and pot hangers, fire lighting methods including fiction or sparks for ignition, camp fire cooking, cordage and knots, shelter building and insulation, Archery and Axe throwing.

Full Days Bush Craft:

Wild Camping Overnight: You will need to bring, medication, a sleeping bag in a waterproof liner, head torch, knife, fork and spoon, cup, bowl, small wash kit, tissues.
Food on overnight trips: Although we will be cooking some foraged foods, you will still need bring a packed lunch and 1 nights camp food (cook able on a fire or stove).
Note: If you do not possess any of the above equipment Gylly Adventures can provide this for you at an extra cost and only with prior arrangement.
Gylly Adventures will provide all equipment for: Fire lighting, Archery, shelter building, foraging and some cooking equipment and utensils.

The Helford River provides the perfect environment for foraging and bush craft. The River can provide all the food, shelter and water needed to sustain yourself for days even weeks in the wilderness. Gylly Adventures River Bush Craft is a fun and interactive way to learn the practical skills you might need the next time your mobile phone runs out of power. Our full day (5hrs) River Bush Craft includes either kayaking or Standup paddle boarding. These craft are the perfect way to access areas of the river not easily reached by foot. You will forage mussels and oysters straight from the river fresher than any you can buy in the supermarket.  As well as exploring the rivers secret inlets you will learn news skills including: Safe knife and saw technique, basic wood carving for feathersticks and pot hangers, fire lighting methods, camp fire cooking, cordage and knots, shelter building and insulation.

Parking: All River Bush Craft days meet in the Bosveal National Trust carpark at the top of Durgen Village. The Car park has an All-day charge of £2 per vehicle and is free to National Trust members. Sat Nav postcode is TR11 5JR.
You will need to bring: A packed lunch, Medication, Swimming Costume, Sun cream, Water Bottle, Towel, Shoes that can get wet, spare clothes appropriate to the weather, a waterproof liner (heavy duty bin bag) to keep the clothes dry and extra warm clothes to put on at the end.
